• Place your feet on the stool at a comfortable distance so your knees are bent at a 90-degree right angle, creating a flat lap.
• Be sure you are sitting all the way back in the chair.
• By elevating your feet on the stool, you are tilting your pelvis back into the chair, reducing the stress on your lower back and shoulders.
• Place a firm feeding pillow, such as the My Brest Friend pillow, on your lap to raise the baby closer to your breast for latching.
• Support your baby with the pillow, decreasing the stress on your wrist. This will minimize the potential for developing carpal tunnel syndrome.
• Correct positioning at the breast minimizes nipple soreness and increases your comfort throughout the feeds.
